Glee's Original Songs, Including "Hell to the No" and "Get It Right"

Do You Like Glee's Original Songs as Much as the Covers?

Next week's episode of Glee is sure to be a special treat. For the first time ever, the cast will sing original music (hence, the episode title "Original Song"), as New Directions performs at regionals. I've been curious to hear the fresh material, and today, several of the tunes leaked online. Along with the tracks "Get It Right" and "Loser Like Me," which hit the Internet weeks ago, there's also a lively jam called "Hell to the No" sung by Mercedes (who else?). Check it out below, along with Lea Michele's ballad "Get It Right."

Kudos to Glee for branching out, though I question if these new tunes have just as much hook as the cast's covers. I love watching the show put its own twist on songs I already know, especially when Ryan Murphy incorporates them into the storyline in unexpected ways (e.g. the football team's rendition of "Single Ladies"). What say you?

I was actually a little nervous when Glee announced they'd be doing original songs, because their covers are usually fun, but hearing these songs changed my mind. These songs sound great and it worked for high school musical to do all original music. Maybe they will mix it up with some original and some covers in the future.

I love "Hell to the No" by Mercedes because it sounds like something a person would say to someone else. Plus, Mercedes singing it makes it have that diva feeling to it and it's really funny and enjoyable. "Get it Right" is a really somber song, that is along the lines of an apology and getting over someone you really cared about. I like both songs though.
