Golden Globe Nominations List 2014

Announcing the 2014 Golden Globe Nominations

Nominations for the 2014 Golden Globe Awards are in, and there are a quite few surprises, mostly in the television categories. Many of the film nominations echoed yesterday's SAG Awards nominations. Four of American Hustle's actors received nods, as did director David O. Russell, and the film is up for best motion picture, musical or comedy. 12 Years a Slave is also a favorite for the Golden Globes this year, earning nods for best motion picture, drama, as well as three acting nods, one for director Steve McQueen, plus best screenplay and best score. Other big film nominees include Captain Phillips, Gravity, Philomena, Nebraska, and Dallas Buyers Club.

On the television side, things got crazy. Andy Samberg has been nominated for Brooklyn Nine-Nine! Taylor Schilling finally scored recognition for her role in Orange Is the New Black! James Spader, Hayden Panettiere, and Rob Lowe are all nominated! Breaking Bad is up for three awards, including one for Bryan Cranston and another for Aaron Paul. Notably absent? Mad Men, which scored zero nominations. The awards ceremony will take place on Jan. 12, and you can find out who has gotten nominated when you keep reading!
