Host with the most (inappropriate jokes) Ricky Gervais returned to preside over the show. Unsurprisingly, he found a way to burn just about every person in the room.

Channing Tatum said that Jonah Hill was unfortunately unable to make it to the show, but that the bear from The Revenant's controversial mauling scene would join him on stage. This bit was funnier than it sounds, and it included a shout-out to "honey awareness."

Pals Amy Schumer and Jennifer Lawrence paired up on stage and sat together during the show, which was a treat for both them and us. We're now fully convinced that they must be sisters. Later, Lawrence won a Globe for Joy, completing her kickass night.

Rachel Bloom, star of The CW's freshman comedy Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, didn't expect to win — but she did! She broke down in tears during her acceptance speech, making us love her even more.
