Gwyneth Paltrow Sings "Forget You" on Glee 2010-11-12 08:30:25

Gwyneth Paltrow Sings "Forget You" on Glee — Love It or Leave It?

Normally I'm not one to post too many Glee spoilers, but this one is just too good to pass up. We've been waiting for Gwyneth Paltrow's guest appearance for months, and here's a sneak peek at the actress belting it out with the gleeks. She puts a feminine spin on Cee-Lo's "Forget You," and it's one of the most fun numbers I've seen on the show in a while (well, besides the amazing rendition of "Teenage Dream"). It's certainly a refreshing change of pace from Mr. Schue's moves.

Whether or not you were feeling Gwyneth's live performance at the CMAs, this clip is still worth watching (she does the robot!). We're officially excited for next Tuesday, but how do you feel about your first look at Gwyneth as the new substitute teacher for the glee club?

Oh, and another thing - I think the reason I thought it would be bad, and the reason it ended up being good, is because without actually seeing the episode it was just kinda like.. Gwenyth Paltrow the celebrity on Glee. But it was actually Gwenyth Paltrow, the actress, playing a character on glee. And she did it really well.

I thought this was gonna be kinda sad, but I watched the episode and really enjoyed it, and her acting/singing performance in it.

I dont think she thinks shes a singer. Ryan Murphy said he wrote the part for her and then asked her to come on..

I don't watch Glee. But, she did a good job. For the haters, tape yourself singing the same thing and then we'll talk. ChicagoDiva, I see what you are saying. But, it's far too easy nowadays for people to criticize, especially when it's something they're not doing or can't do.

it was definitely fun and she did pretty well. however, i do think this is all conveniently timed to help promote her new movie. no question about it, she's working overtime for awards season...

I don't watch glee and I am not a fan of Gwyneth but I thought this was fun and cute. It makes me want to watch this episode.

Actually, Amesabelle - it's called an "opinion" - and as such, won't always be raving and glowing. I wish people like you would stop criticizing all non-raving comments, b/c they are just as valid as your happy-happy-joy-joy ones. No one here claims to know any of the celebs, so all of our comments are completely superfluous, even yours.

I thought this was adorable! I love seeing normally prissy Gwyneth break out of her mold a little bit, and her voice is pleasant enough. Although I definitely agree with amrita - they use WAY too much autotune on this show. Also, as a sidenote, this song is called "Fuck you" in Europe - I was wondering how they were going to make it Glee-appropriate and now I have my answer!!

i love the show but they use SO MUCH autotune i swear i can't even tell what a human voice is supposed to sound like anymore. i was about to call this out on having been autotuned to high hell, but i seriously feel like my ability to evaluate fairly is totally compromised by this show, and i don't even know.

It's not too bad.. I kinda like it.. I had fun watching it. I don't think she's trying to "convince us" at all, I think she's having fun, trying out different roles, different types of acting. It's her real voice, but it might be pre-recorded, because it looks like she was lip-syncing.. but it's still fun to watch..

Sorry, gotta disagree with the two negatories above me. That was pure fun I watched it thinking how cool it is that she can let loose and be a dork while still sounding great and looking hot. I'm not so sure she's trying to "convince us" (??) she's a singer as she's just choosing roles that allow her to use another skill she has. Sometimes I wish people would just post what they really mean, i.e. "I'm going to post as negative comments as I possibly can because for some irrational reason, I spend time hating this person I have never met, do not know personally (therefore couldn't possibly ACTUALLY hate) and WILL never meet (so I will never be able to verify if I should actually hate them)". What a waste of time.

Sorry, but that was painful.

I guess the real question is why Gwyneth wants to convince us she's a singer. Could it have something to do with the release of her new film in which she plays a singer? Or maybe she just wants us to see her as anyone else than the Goopster, a persona she created herself, sadly.

That was actually fun to look at. I liked it. I thought it would be bad but it turned out to be good. I can't wait to see this episode on Tuesday.

Umm, no. I wanted to like it, but it's really pretty sad. She's trying way too hard, her "dancing" is pretty awkward (she looks like a total Mom dancing!) and her voice is not bad, but sounds weak without back-up singers (she sounded a lot better on CMAs b/c she had great help). I wish she would just stick to acting and being an America-bashing socialite.
