As we cruise into the colder months, Fall horror movies have begun to arrive in droves. The thing is, though, we've been getting fresh doses of nightmares all year long. Under the Shadows

  • What it's about: Set in post-revolution Iran in the '80s, it features a mother fighting unspeakable (and frankly, indescribable) evil in her home.

  • What it's about: A gang of sadistic clowns kidnaps a group of five carnival workers on the eve of Halloween. The workers are held hostage in an abandoned compound of horror, and they must play a 12-hour game with only one rule: survive.

  • What it's about: Two young women (Troian Bellisario, Bailey Noble) try to track down the family who imprisoned and tortured them 10 years prior.

  • What it's about: Greta (Lauren Cohan) has lucked into a new job as the nanny of a young boy named Brahms. Here's the catch, though: the real Brahms died 20 years ago.   • What it's about: Anna suffers from crippling agoraphobia, which prevents her from going outside. So, when three intruders break into her home, she's out of luck. What the criminals don't know, though, is that she isn't as helpless as she seems.

  • What it's about: OK, so the movie doesn't exactly read as horror: the three main characters spend their days in an underground bunker, playing games and killing time. That said, there are definite sinister undertones, and if we look to the original Cloverfield, things could get REAL scary.

  • What it's about: A dead, mute woman has escaped to the woods to finish her most recently novel. She quickly learns she's not alone when a masked man makes his sinster presence known. What follows is a terrifying — and exceptionally quiet — game of cat and mouse. We can confirm it's scary as hell, and good.

  • What it's about: This one's an anthology film that portrays classic holidays with a seriously dark twist.
