Buckle up, because the new Iron Man 3 trailer is here and it's put me in a glass case of emotion. Following The Avengers' fiasco in New York, Tony Stark, aka Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), isn't feeling too hot. He can't sleep and he just wants to protect Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow), the one thing he "can't live without." He's so out of sorts that he leaves himself vulnerable for a new baddie named The Mandarin (Ben Kingsley) to strike — and strike he does, with a vengeance. Guy Pearce is also in the picture as Aldrich Killian, a name comic book fans might recognize, though the trailer doesn't give away too much about him just yet.
This trailer is almost too much for me to handle. Iron Man is my favorite Avenger (there, I said it) and not only does he start out all moody and depressed, but then Pepper is kidnapped and his gorgeous house gets destroyed? I'm actually tearing up at the idea of a fallen Iron Man. This is the first movie of the series that Jon Favreau isn't directing, so it'll be interesting to see new director Shane Black's depiction of the superhero, but let's hope he can still keep Tony Stark's signature wit intact. The movie opens May 3, and you can watch the trailer after the jump.
