The perfect recipe for family dysfunction: Jason Segel, plus Ed Helms, plus pot. The two actors have signed on to play brothers in a stoner comedy titled Jeff, Who Lives at Home. I don't exactly see a resemblance between the guys, but it sounds like great typecasting: the film centers on a day in the life of two bros — one's a slacker (Segel, naturally), the other is more uptight and overbearing (Helms). The Duplass brothers are at the helm on this one and as an added bonus, Jason Reitman is helping produce, and Judy Greer is in talks to play Helms's wife.
Segel has plenty of experience lighting one up (Freaks and Geeks, Knocked Up, need I go on?), so it shouldn't take much preparation for him to tap into the role. But I'm especially psyched about this casting news, because I have a secret soft spot for the film Step Brothers, and this premise should allow for a similar funny rivalry. Here's hoping for shared bunk beds!
