Jennifer Egan Novel The Keep Being Adapted to a Movie

Buzz In: What Books Would You Like to See Made Into Movies?

When Hollywood's not rebooting old ideas, the other place they mine is the bookstore. The next tome to get the movie treatment is Jennifer Egan's The Keep, which will be directed by The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo's Niels Arden Oplev. It joins the ranks of a whole host of books currently being adapted for the big screen, and fans of Egan's thriller are either delighted or groaning right now.

We all know that, most of the time, the movie version of a book rarely does it justice, but in some cases, a movie can live up to its source material (and sometimes be better). With that in mind, are there any books that you think would make great films?

Sadly, bluesarahlou, I've heard it's true. I think she would be an AWFUL Claire. But I could totally see KH as Geilie Duncan. She'd be perfect for it, actually. Besides "Outlander," I'd really like to see "Summerland" by Michael Chabon. It's technically a children's book, but it's amazing and wonderful and I think it would translate well to the big screen.

Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr is being made into a film, so happy for that! Screenplay is in the final stages and Kimberly Pierce (Stop-Loss, Boys Don't Cry) is the Director. I highly suspect that this will be the newest book to go crazy, taking the place of Harry Potter and The Twilight Saga. The books are fantastic. Morganville Vampires by Rachel Caine would be great! The Art Of Mending by Elizabeth Berg Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen The Lacemakers of Glenmara by Heather Barbieri Moonheart and/or Wild Wood by Charles DeLint

Definitely Richelle Mead's Succubus series. I love those books and would love to see as a movie/tv show.
