Whether you're a huge musical-theater nerd (like I am) or just someone who loves a beautiful ballad, I promise you'll be moved — perhaps to the point of tears — by The Voice season nine winner Jordan Smith's epic performance of "Climb Every Mountain." The 22-year-old Kentucky native and member of Team Adam took home the trophy on Dec. 15. But before he could be crowned king, he had to prove himself. And that he did, by rocking out to Queen's "Somebody to Love" (OMFG that throaty power note at the end) or Beyoncé's "Halo." And when the pressure was on to get votes on the finale results show, he went head to head — or, rather, voice to voice — with the ubercool Usher to belt out "Without You."

Those performances were fabulous, but when he opened night one of the finale with "Climb Every Mountain" from The Sound of Music, I thought, "game over." Jordan passionately took the stage with a choir accompaniment, singing inspiring words like "follow every rainbow, till you find your dream." What makes Jordan so special is that he doesn't look like his voice. Though he is a rather burly man, his vocals and ability to hit piercing high notes sound more like what would come out of Adele's mouth. So close your eyes, put on headphones, press play, and prepare to be captivated.
