Leighton Meester to Star Opposite Hugh Laurie in Indie Drama Comedy The Oranges 2010-02-26 10:30:16

Leighton Meester Has More to Gossip About

Move over, Chuck Bass — there's a new man in Leighton Meester's life. Well, on the big screen anyway. Meester is set to star opposite Hugh Laurie in the upcoming indie comedy The Oranges. The film focuses on the relationship between a man and his daughter's best friend, which naturally causes turmoil in both of their lives. Presumably, Leighton will be playing the friend and Laurie will be her older suitor, with Catherine Keener also set to star.

The pervy dad shacking up with Lolita-type isn't exactly a groundbreaking idea (American Beauty immediately comes to mind), but the comedy genre is what's getting me here. Can you see Meester and Laurie having chemistry and comedic timing?

i think she can pull it off. IMO, she's one of the better actors on GG, so i'm excited to see her branch out. (especially since GG is turing to crap!)

Interesting. I think they have amazing chemistry from being on House together. Didn't they later place a restraining order on her character? Hilarious.

(Well, I'm sure you could look it up, but not on imdb!)

But, since there's no full synopsis for "Lines in the Sand," you can't look up how her story ended, with her also becoming a patient!

Yes, Anon, I, too, can look up things on imdb, which you clearly did for your original comment, as well, considering that you used their exact wording! I was just commenting on something I remembered.

Or actually, now that you say that, it was both...she was a patient's daughter and she became a patient.

Nope, I'm pretty sure she was actually the clinic patient herself. It wound up that there was something wrong with her that was lowering her inhibitions.

Meester played a patient who had a flirtation with House back in her blonde days and, if I'm remembering correctly, she and Laurie had believable chemistry. I'm curious to hear more about this; it could go either way.
