Music Video: Foo Fighters, "Long Road to Ruin," With Rashida Jones

Jenna Fischer isn't the only star from The Office to be making appearances in music videos. Now Rashida Jones, a.k.a. Karen who is currently regional manager at the Utica branch of Dunder Mifflin is appearing in the video for the Foo Fighters song "Long Road to Ruin" from their album Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace.

The song itself isn't groundbreakingly cool, but the video is entertaining. It reminds me of a sketch we might have seen on an old episode of The State. Lots of long-haired wigs and '70s mustaches accompany this soap opera-y story, all coated in a hazy dreamlike sheen. Sound weird? It is. It really is. To see what I'm talking about and to check out Rashida's music video debut,

If anything in this world rocks, it's the Foo Fighters! Good video, even funnier than "Learn to Fly" although not quite as funny as the "Low" and "Big Me" videos. The Foo's will never top "Footo's - the fresh fighter!" It's a wonder why the Foo Fighters aren't nearly as huge here in the states as they are in the rest of the world. UK, Melbourne, Japan, you pick it, they rock it. Yet, when the Foo's and Weezer toured the states a couple years ago, the shows I went to didn't nearly sell out (all changed the year following when the Foo's did their acoustic tour, although the seating was much more limited). Yet, the project revolution tour (featuring the most craptastic bands, sans tastic, America has to offer) continues to be a success. Stupid Americans!
