Music Video: James Blunt, "1973"

Music Video: James Blunt, "1973"

I can't say James Blunt is my favorite guy on the music scene right now, but as far as his music goes, this new track is not bad. It reminds me of something we might have actually heard on the radio in, well, the 1970s, and in that sense it's pretty interesting.

Much of whether or not you'll enjoy Blunt's music depends on how much you can endure his voice, however, and I tend to reach the threshold of too much James Blunt quickly. Still, I do think "1973" has more promise to not be as totally grating as "You're Beautiful" after the zillionth time.

In the video, Blunt saunters slowly and gloomily down the street that alternates between being desolate in present-day and super groovy in 1973. His next album, All Lost Souls, releases September 18. To watch the video for "1973",

well, this will not be as popular was you're beautiful. it's ok i guess, i like the video better than the song, his voice gets annoying. but the color of the video is cool!

Oh, and you will never be as cool or as good as The Bee Gee's, so stop trying to sound like them. Thanks. ;)

I need him to go away. His voice makes my ears bleed.

Meh. The 70's scenes were ok but there weren't enough of them. I don't dig rhyming "Mona" with "I wish I'd known-a" Was James Blunt even alive in 1973?
