Music Video: "Little Bribes" by Death Cab For Cutie

This music video for Death Cab for Cutie's song "Little Bribes" is basically just a series of things spelling out the words to the song as we hear Ben Gibbard sing them, and yet, it's mesmerizing. There's no real visual story going on, but I found that I didn't want to look away from these words flashing onscreen, perhaps because I just wanted to see what objects would be used to spell out the next word. It's so basic, but playful enough to be interesting. And actually, the same could be said for the song itself. To check out the video,

Alice Yoo — An email I received from Atlantic Records today reads:"Death Cab for Cutie unveil a new video for the song 'Little Bribes,' which is featured on their recent EP, The Open Door. The inventive video was directed by director/cinematographer Ross Ching, a longtime DCFC fan whose interest in time-lapse photography was spurred by the 'Brothers On A Hotel Bed' video from the band's Directions DVD. Thus inspired, the San Diego State University film school graduate created the 'Little Bribes' clip on his own, which he then posted on his personal website under the heading, 'Looking For A Job.' When members of Death Cab saw Ching's work, they immediately decided to release 'Little Bribes' as the track's official video. Ching has since been hired by Atlantic Records to helm a future video project for the label."
