The Notebook TV Show: 31 Casting Choices For Noah and Allie

My head is still spinning from the news that The CW is adapting The Notebook into a TV series — and Nicholas Sparks is producing it! The first question that comes to mind is: who will take over the parts of star-crossed lovers Noah and Allie? Surely no pair can live up to Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams! Well, we came up with a few possibilities. I'm hoping the series will bring us just as many emotional moments as the movie, and until the cast is announced, let's speculate about who could take over the iconic roles.

Colton Haynes

Haynes's character rode off into the sunset on Arrow, so it's time for him to secure another role. He's gorgeous, but he's also a fantastic actor.

Peltz is also a TV veteran, having starred on Bates Motel. She held her own opposite Mark Wahlberg in Transformers: Age of Extinction, and she could definitely handle the role of Allie.

Isn't it time this Teen Wolf costar be the leading man of his own show? Sure, he's transitioning onto the big screen with The Maze Runner films, but this would be a great gig for him.

Now that Dobrev has exited The Vampire Diaries, she may be looking for a new role! OK, probably not on another drama on The CW, but a girl (me) can dream.

Unfortunately for Matt Lanter, his show Star-Crossed was canceled after one season. But maybe it was because he was fated to play Noah!

How perfect would Paper Towns star Sage be? She's mostly sticking to the big screen, but she would be an ideal Allie.

Victoria Justice

TV star Justice has a built-in fan base that she could bring to the show, including probably some kids who have never even seen the original movie!

Listen, this is a dream cast, OK?

If the Pretty Little Liars star gets sick of being taunted by "A," she should consider starring as Allie.

I know he's British, but UnREAL's Stroma (who previously starred in a Harry Potter movie!) could probably rock a really good Southern accent. Can't you just imagine a newsboy cap on him?

And if they cast Stroma, why not bring along his UnREAL costar? The two are dating in real life, meaning they could bring some serious chemistry to the set.

Stare deeply into this Younger star's eyes and tell me you wouldn't want to be a bird with that.

Ludwig might be too busy with Vikings, but he would be a superhot Noah.

Dove Cameron

Dove Cameron

This rising star has made a name for herself on the Disney Channel on Liv and Maddie and the recent movie Descendants, and it's a perfect time for her to graduate to The CW.

Fell in love with Till in the X-Men movies? How great would it be to see him every week on The Notebook?

Alexandra Daddario

Alexandra Daddario

Daddario has been all over the small screen (New Girl, True Detective, Parenthood) and the big screen (San Andreas, the Percy Jackson movies), but it's time the beauty scored a leading-lady part.

Awkward's resident hunk can pull off Noah's singleminded pursuit of Allie with ease. Just look at Matty's relationship with Jenna! OK, bad example.

Claire Holt

Ever since Holt left The Originals, I've been hoping for her to find another leading role. She's been starring on Aquarius, but she would be a really compelling Allie — if she can trade her Australian accent for a Southern one.

Alexander Dreymon

You may remember Dreymon as Hot Neighbor Whose Mom Gave Him a Clorox Enema on American Horror Story: Coven, but he could be so much more than that.

22
Britt Robertson

The Tomorrowland actress's roots are at The CW; she starred on Life Unexpected and The Secret Circle. Third time might be the charm!

23
Austin Butler

Austin Butler

With roles on previous CW shows like Life Unexpected, The Carrie Diaries, and Arrow, Butler has the perfect pedigree for a role like this. Though he's starring in MTV's 2016 drama The Shannara Chronicles, I secretly hope he can find time to be young Noah.

24
Bella Thorne

Bella Thorne

Thorne's résumé looks pretty busy for the next year or so, but in case the Shake It Up star wants to return to a recurring TV role, this would be an excellent pick.

Hunter Parrish

So what if I still have a crush on Parrish from his role on Weeds? He could totally build a house for Allie.

26
Dianna Agron

Now that Glee has wrapped, I'm hoping Agron will find another place on primetime — though it looks like she's pursuing films. Still, I'm campaigning for her as Allie.

Oliver Jackson-Cohen

Oliver Jackson-Cohen

You may know Jackson-Cohen from NBC's ill-fated Dracula series. All I'm saying is I wouldn't jump out of the boat if he were rowing it.

29
Maika Monroe

The It Follows actress is now an It girl, and she would be fabulous as Allie.

Douglas Booth

Booth, who you'll fall for in next year's Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, looks like he could hang from a ferris wheel for a date.

Depending on how long her character stays alive on Scream Queens, Samuels could totally be Allie.
