Number Crunching: This Week's TV Ratings

Number Crunching: This Week's TV Ratings

  • OMG, a record! Gossip Girl is getting a boost in its second season: The show hit record ratings on Monday, with 3.7 million viewers.
  • Fringe flies. Fringe recorded a mammoth increase from its first episode to its second. After pulling in 9 million viewers in its premiere, it shot up to 13.4 million viewers this week.
  • In the house. House was a big reason for Fringe's boost, bringing in 14.4 million viewers of its own. The bad news: That's a big drop from the season four premiere, which had more than 18 million viewers.
  • Weeds wins. Weeds had its best finale ratings ever, with 1.3 million total viewers watching one of the two broadcasts of the episode on Monday.
  • Model behavior. The makeover episode of America's Next Top Model was up about 400,000 viewers from last week's episode, with a total of 4.2 million viewers.

Well this season's House had two things going against it. The first being a new time slot. The second being the fact we weren't coming off a major cliffhanger like House firing everyone. And for ilanac13, 90210 did 3.33M, up from last week's 3.2M but still down from the hyped first week 4.65M.

That reminds me that I still need to watch Fringe and GG! As for House... I have loved that show from the very beginning, but this week's episode was not good. After the amazingness of the season finale I really expected it to start strong, but no such luck.

i'm really happy to hear that fringe is doing better - i think that there was just a LOT of competition when the show first premiered that we didn't know what to tune into and that's why the ratings weren't as high at first but now that people saw the re-airing of it, they realized that it's great. i hope that it continues to do well. as for ANTM, i didn't catch this week's episode but i know that it was the makeover episode so i'm sure that i'll have to watch it on the DVR. i always love to see what they do and see how some of the girls cry since they are so set in the way that they look going into the show.i don't know how GG got better ratings this week - the show was really dull - and i really had high hopes for it. oh well...at least it's helping the CW do ok. i wonder how the 90210 ratings compared since there wasn't a note on that.

Yeah if it wasn't for House, I would not have even known about Fringe. It came on b/c we don't usually watch anything in particular after House and it sucked us in. Lol. It's really not a bad show.
