Obvious Child Trailer

Watch This Trailer If You're Worried Romantic Comedies Aren't Good Anymore

If you like the humor of Girls and have a soft spot for Jean-Ralphio's sister on Parks and Recreation, then let me introduce you to the trailer for Obvious Child. It stars Jenny Slate, who you may recognize not just from Parks, but possibly Saturday Night Live (or as the very adorable voice in the viral video "Marcel the Shell With the Shoes On") — she plays Donna, a recently dumped comedian who rebounds with a sweet guy (Jake Lacy) and ends up with a little more than she bargained for.

Slate and Lacy's chemistry is so cute, but the rest of this romantic comedy isn't as conventional as it sounds; the humor is biting, and the situation gets very real and loses its sugar coating. I can't wait to see Slate in a starring role like this and hope this is her big breakout moment. Obvious Child comes out June 6, and you can watch the trailer now.
