Here's What We Know About the Next "Big Bad" on Pretty Little Liars

In the wake of the shocking "A" reveal on Pretty Little Liars, there's already a mysterious new bad guy on the loose, and he's coming after Ali. Now we know exactly who it is — well, sort of. A recent Variety article, which stated that the show would end after season 7, forced creator I. Marlene King to clarify her comments on Twitter. In doing so, she revealed that the new villain is Uber A! Way back before all this commotion, though, we got the chance to interview King about the impending five-year time jump, that explosive "A" reveal, and what she then referred to as the new "big bad." Read what she had to say.

POPSUGAR: So there's a new mystery on the show! Someone is coming after Ali, five years later. Obviously, you can't divulge a lot about that, but are there any clues you can give us on what to look forward to?

I. Marlene King: Well, the girls have all sort of gone their separate ways over these five years, and although they're still friends, they don't see each other regularly. So there is an event — or a reason — they come back to Rosewood. Some new secrets and lies. A new mystery unfolds. And the results of that mystery unleash a new "big bad."

PS: Does this new person, this "big bad," have anything to do with the person who killed Mrs. DiLaurentis?

IMK: . . . Possibly. [Laughs.]

PS: Are we going to find out who did it?!

IMK: We will find out who did that, yes. That's connected to this new mystery and the new "big bad" moving forward.
