Roger Ebert Dies

Roger Ebert Has Passed Away

It's a very sad day: Roger Ebert has died at 70, following a battle with cancer. The beloved movie critic was open about his struggle with cancer of the thyroid and salivary gland, tweeting just yesterday that he was taking "a leave of presence" because his cancer had returned. Still, the critic, who had been reviewing movies for 46 years, hadn't really slowed down — his last movie review came earlier this month. He'll be greatly missed.
