The Returning Cast

The show's official Instagram account teased the returning cast: Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, Abigail Breslin, Keke Palmer, Billie Lourd, Glen Powell, Niecy Nash, and Jamie Lee Curtis. So basically, all of the season one survivors!

Michele also teased in an interview with InStyle that she's heard some interesting tidbits about who Ryan Murphy is courting for the next season. "I also heard a rumor that he may, I don't know if this is true, but he said at a press thing recently that he is talking to a male pop star to come for next year . . . If it's Harry Styles, everybody better calm down. I love One Direction."

Even More New Stars Are Coming Out of the Woodwork

At the end of July, the official Twitter handle announced the addition of Jerry O'Connell, but that's not all. During the Scream Queens panel at Comic-Con, cocreator Ian Brennan also confirmed that Arrow's Colton Haynes and SNL's Cecily Strong would appear, potentially as new patients!

The Surviving Chanels

If you thought the Chanels disbanded after falling from grace, think again. Emma Roberts explained at Comic-Con that just because the girls are institutionalized, it doesn't mean the heirarchy has been dismantled. "They have fallen from glamour, but they're trying to hold onto it as much as they can," she said. "It's funny seeing them try to hold onto their style; they have no money. They have to work, which is something that's completely foreign to them. It's hilarious; it's fun."

Apparently, the Chanels' iconic wardrobe is still being preserved . . . sort of. Emma Roberts explained: "They definitely have some really cool hospital gear. There's definitely some, like, fur stethoscopes and some rhinestone stethoscopes. There's definitely a lot of capes. I was like, 'I don't know if people wear little capelets when they're working in the hospital, that are pink, but OK, we'll go with it.'"

Jamie Lee Curtis revealed at Comic-Con that the second season's event would not be directly following the first season. "There's a three-year time jump," she explained.

The Plot

The Chanels will be studying under Dean Munsch at a mental institution, but Emma Roberts stated at Comic-Con that it's not the same place the girls land in season one. So, we're heading somewhere entirely new. Apparently, Hester will be involved in a murder, Taylor Lautner's character will be a doctor and prime suspect, Zayday is training to become a doctor, and Denise is now in the FBI. John Stamos's character has been hired by Dean Munsch as the new head of surgery, and he's apparently had a full hand transplant.
