Adaptations of books are so hot right now, and Seventh Son is one of the latest book series to get the movie treatment. Based on The Spook's Apprentice (which is part of the Wardstone Chronicles series), the film just debuted a new trailer during the Super Bowl. The movie will introduce us to Master Gregory (Jeff Bridges), a hunter of the supernatural who has to train Tom (Ben Barnes), the seventh son of the seventh son, to kill the baddies. Chief among them are witches like Mother Malkin (Julianne Moore), who's beautiful but quite evil. The dragons, witches, and sword fights make me think of half a dozen other movies that have already covered this territory, but I like the idea of Moore as a powerful witch and the fact that she's being reunited with her Big Lebowski costar Bridges. However, I would like to get a better look at Game of Thrones' Kit Harington, who also has a role. Seventh Son will come out on Feb. 6 (this Friday!), and you can check out the trailers below.
