Starting to tire of your DVR lineup? Then listen up: two of TV's hottest showrunners are developing new shows, and they could be coming soon to a small screen near you. Whether your thing is soapy supernatural drama or soapy workplace drama, there's a fresh new series on the horizon to look forward to.
- Good news for fans of The Vampire Diaries: writer Kevin Williamson is prepping a supernatural companion series for the CW about a group of friends who investigate paranormal activity. The new series, which Diaries producer Julie Plec is also involved in, is described as "The X-Files meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer." If that's not a solid selling point, I don't know what is.
- Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice creator Shonda Rhimes's new project is a TV series about PR crisis management. Inspired by the career of real-life PR maven Judy Smith (whose clients include Bill Clinton and Michael Vick), the show will focus on a public relations firm and its staff. Since Rhimes is at the helm, I think we can also expect plenty of drama and love triangles — but this time, without the medical setting.
