Hi, I'm Shannon Vestal and in Watch, Pass or Rent we're looking at "The Sitter". Jonah Hill plays a slacker who gets hired to babysit three kids and ends up on a wild adventure through New York City. I'm not gonna be a babysitter. I'm an adult man. Okay, babysitting sucks. Adult men don't babysit things. The movie is inspired by Adventures in Babysitting, but it's nowhere near as good. The script is not that funny, it's not original. And the whole gag is that Jonah is this male babysitter, but it's a joke that gets old fast. Do whatever I say or I'll kill you type of babysitter. You sprayed perfume in my mouth. I hate you. The writing is really lazy. You can just see every plot twist coming from a mile away. And not only are these adventures completely unbelievable, so are the check. We're supposed to believe that Jon's [sp?] character fixes each of the kids' lives in one night, you just don't buy it at all. Wipe the make up off your face. What are you, a marvelous. They are are two supporting characters that are really funny: Ari Graynor as a wild party girl and Sam Rockwell as a crazed drug dealer. And Sam Rockwell just always does crazy so well. On being chased by two insane drug dealers. I went in expecting a Raffles comedy that would make me laugh but the jokes were just stupid. And even though I always think that Jonah Hill is funny, we've seen him play this role before, specifically in a Superbad, and not even he could save this movie. The path
