Steve Carell and Tina Fey in Talks to Star in Mail-Order Groom 2009-12-17 10:30:16

Steve Carell May Be Tina Fey's Mail-Order Groom

Stop me if you've heard this one before — Tina Fey and Steve Carell are teaming up to star in a comedy together. The funny twosome, who wrapped filming Date Night together just a few months ago, are in talks for Mail-Order Groom. As you can guess from the title, Carell will play the groom in question while Fey will play a down-on-her-love-life-luck single gal who brings him home from the Middle East.

Both Carell and Fey are attached to produce, but whether or not they'll find time in their hectic schedules to make the movie is another question. As much as I love seeing Fey and Carell on Thursday nights, I'm feeling lukewarm about this project. First of all, Fey's awkwardly desperate for a man shtick is getting a little old. Secondly, Carell taking on a Middle Eastern accent sounds like it could be a total disaster — someone sound the Zohan alarm.

How do you feel about the idea? Are you just happy about the prospect of seeing Fey and Carell together again?

Why is his character from the middle east? I hope it's funny but respectful. Wouldn't it be more realistic if his part were White European or something?

I agree with Tina's "awkwardness" is getting old. Especially on 30 Rock, where they often go to the "Liz is disgusting!" bag for laughs. However, if you look like Tina Fey, you aren't disgusting, obviously, and not convincingly awkward. I still think she's hilarious though.
