SNL Takes On Racism With a Spot-On Stranger Things Sketch

Lin-Manuel Miranda hosted Saturday Night Live this week, and one of the best parts of the show was when he traveled back to the '80s to poke fun at Netflix's sci-fi hit Stranger Things. After the show's creators, the Duffer brothers, basically admit they forgot to ever mention Lucas's parents, they show a preview for season two, which addresses the issue.

Leslie Jones and Kenan Thompson star as Lucas (Sasheer Zamata)'s mother and father, who are a bit concerned about him hanging out with so many "crazy white people," including Eleven (played by Kate McKinnon) and one of the cast's newest members, Melissa Villaseñor, who makes a spot-on Winona Ryder impression. The sketch manages to tackle racism and police brutality — "You don't have to go looking for scary stuff; it's gonna find you," Lucas's dad says — while also making us laugh. Watch it above now.
