TV Tonight: Concert for Diana

Had Princess Diana not been killed a decade ago, today would have been her 46th birthday. To mark the date and the 10th anniversary of her death, London is hosting the massive Concert for Diana today, and NBC will broadcast it tonight at 8 p.m. Eastern and Pacific.

The tribute concert's star-studded lineup includes the favorite artists of Diana and her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry: a wide range of performers from Elton John to Lily Allen to Joss Stone to the English National Ballet. Matt Lauer will host the U.S. broadcast.

I admit I'm not usually one for watching televised tributes of any sort, but the list of performers for this one has me intrigued — and I'm especially excited about Ricky Gervais and Mackenzie Crook performing, though I wonder if their number will make the cut for the U.S. broadcast. What about you? Will you be watching?

It was a great tribute- specially the little videos of the ppl she has inspired and the one of he as a kid in the end, it was nice to know a bit abt her as a person and not jus her title. Lily Allen, Nelly Furtado, Kanye and P Diddy were awesome! hehe n i liked the bit when Beckham came on n was blushing from all the female attention :D so cute

I think Harry and Williams did an amazing job putting such a diverse concert together, it really lived up to their mothers memory. And they looked like they were having so much fun. My favourite performance was actually the ballet, though.

I watched it! I loved Lily Allen, Joss Stone and Kanye West. Diddy was great too. And Ricky Gervais was just hilarious, asusual!

Lily Allen was absolutely amazing. I loved her performances. I wasn't really feeling The Feeling though. Fergie was good I thought it was cute how she dedicated her performance to Princess Di. I was totally digging Elton John though and normally I'm really not that into him!

I watched a lot of it on VH1 as I was cleaning house. You can watch the performances on vh1.com if you missed them. Ricky Gervais was on stage twice as long as planned because Elton John's set took longer than expected to get set up.

It was also on Vh1 live today. It went from 11a.m. to just past 5p.m. and I loved it. The acts were great! I really like P Diddy's performance, and I am not a fan of rap, and I even thought the comedian was good.

I saw a bit of it before I had to go to work and thought it was great, I wish I could have seen Kanye West perform but I did catch Lily Allen who sounded good. Fergie on the other hand needs a bit of work, she sounded terrible.

I watched most of it on VH1 today. Love stuff like this. Duran Duran! Great way to start the show.

I watched it all day on VH1 and tivo'ed it. Pretty great performances but the little stories by the people Diana had met and influenced in her life were the high points, as was Puffy's performance surprisingly. If you do watch be sure to stay tuned to see the very end, it had me in tears.....

The whole show was excellent. I loved the videos of her as a child at the very end of it. And pink, I saw kate too. The cameras focused in on her durring one of Take That's performances.

I actually just gone done watching it. I really enjoyed the whole "Diana and Me" segments of the concert. I almost forgot how beautiful Diana was until watching those segments. My sister said that she spotted Kate Middleton a few rows behind William and Harry, but I don't believe her. PROS AND CONS: Pros: Some of the performers were great and really got the audience engaging to the performaces. I especially loved Natasha Bedingfeild and Kanye West performances. Their vocals and presences were great. Made me want to see them both in concert. Of course individually. Cons: P. Diddy as an individual and his little statement about how his is considered a "royalty" in the U.S.; therefore it's one royalty to another. Blah.
