Toy Story Wins Second Weekend at Box Office, Beats Grown Ups

Box Office: Children's Toy Story 3 Tops Grown Ups

To infinity and beyond! Woody, Buzz, and the cute characters of Toy Story 3 won a second weekend at the box office with $59 million. That was enough to beat out both of the new big releases; Adam Sandler's Grown Ups came in second with $41 million, while Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz's Knight and Day took third with $20.5 million.

The Karate Kid and The A-Team rounded out the rest of the top five with $15.4 million and $6 million, respectively. Something tells me we'll see all of these standings change up very soon — Eclipse opens in theaters on Wednesday.

classysassy, i totally agree! i'm 21 and completely cried during parts of that movie because i felt an emotional attachment to the characters, having practically grown up with the movies. that, and because i still can't part with my own stuffed animals!

I'm 22, saw Toy Story this weekend, having grown up with it as a kid. No surprise that the movie garnered families and young adults alike. Tom Cruise is losing his steam.

i'm really surprised that Knight and Day didn't do better - especially since the theater i was in was PACKED and it's usually not like that. anyway, i'm sure that it'll pick up steam over the next few weeks (aside from the Eclipse fanfare) and it'll do well.
