The Kids Are All Right was one of the buzzy films to come out of this year's Sundance, and it's easy to see why after watching this trailer. Annette Bening and Julianne Moore star as Nic and Jules, longtime partners and parents of two children (played by Josh Hutcherson and Alice in Wonderland's Mia Wasikowska) who they conceived via sperm donor. However, when their kids track down their birth father (Mark Ruffalo), it's a recipe for conflict and confusion about their relationship — Jules even kisses the guy. A tad screwy? Yes, but also very sweet.
Everything about this film looks promising: the story, the actors, even the music in the preview (Vampire Weekend!). Plus, I love it when a drama has a solid undercurrent of humor. It doesn't come out until July 7, but I'm already marking my calendar. Check it out for yourself when you read more.
