Watch the Video Trailer For HBO's New Series Treme, About the Effects of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans

Transport to New Orleans With HBO's Treme

Next month, HBO takes us to New Orleans for its newest series, Treme. The drama gives us a new look at the disastrous effects of Hurricane Katrina, three months after the hurricane swept through the Big Easy and changed it forever. The series will be told through the eyes of NOLA's musicians, so it's only fitting that the trailer boasts a jazz tune instead of dialogue.

The series has plenty of familiar faces: Steve Zahn, Melissa Leo, John Goodman. The Wire's Wendell Pierce also stars as one of the musicians, which is no surprise since the two shows share the same creators. The trailer adeptly gives you an upbeat, inspirational tune to tap your feet to while you watch the spirit of the New Orleans' residents try to overcome the strife they're enduring. For every shot of crying, hugging, and destruction, there are glimmers of hope. I'm already on board, but decide for yourself when you read more.
