In 1973, author Michael Crichton wrote and directed a science-fiction movie called Westworld. Forty-three years later, HBO has released a trailer for its one-hour drama series inspired by Crichton's film. Starring Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, and Anthony Hopkins, the show is "a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin." That's according to HBO's press release; the trailer doesn't give away much (or any) of the plot. In case you're wondering what might actually be happening, the trailer from the original movie (below) is pretty interesting. Of course, the series is only inspired by it, and things have clearly been changed. Take a look at the teaser above — the new show doesn't start until October.
