What Gabourey Sidibe, Carey Mulligan, and Sandra Bullock Will be Wearing on the Oscar Red Carpet 2010-02-16 11:30:05

Trash Bags Could Be the New Trend on the Oscar Red Carpet

This year's Oscar nominees looked gorgeous at yesterday's luncheon, but the ladies aren't exactly planning ahead when it comes to the big night. In the press room, the women kept mum about who they'll be wearing on the red carpet — because none of them have made a decision yet! Here's what they had to say when asked the telltale question:

  • Sandra Bullock: I guess I'm behind on this. Today was the first time I actually saw one dress. And then looked at some sketches. I'm oddly relaxed about it, because it's someone else's job to finely stitch thousands of pleats and jewels into a gorgeous thing to make you look divine. If I have to wear a trash bag, I'll belt it with rhinestones and I'll make it work.
  • Gabourey Sidibe: Not just yet, and it's two weeks away and my stomach's hurting over it a little bit. I'm a little scared — I haven't even started looking at color or anything like that. I got a bunch of sketches through e-mail, and I said that I looked at them, but I lied.
  • Carey Mulligan: I haven't, I don't even know what I'm wearing to BAFTAS. Someone else knows, though. But no, I haven't thought about it — I mean, I've thought about it. I've got dream dresses in my head, but I don't know who will make them.
