I don't like Keira Knightley at all, like some people have posted, but I was really looking forward to seeing a great story with beautiful cinematography and I just decided to ignore Keira Knightley lol. I recommend this movie to anyone who is thinking about going. I am not interested in seeing the Golden Compass-- I don't think the storyline is interesting enough to pay so much money for and anyways, some of the ideals taught in Golden Compass concern me. ana-isabel 7 years ATONEMENT!!! MrsJigglesworth 7 years Last weekend we saw a sneak preview of The Golden Compass. My husband had read the book, I hadn't. I liked the movie, he didn't love it. bonadea23 7 years Word of advice... if you liked the book The Golden Compass there is a very big chance you will hate the movie... I did at least... it was terrible. omgosh-dee 7 years atonement! i'm reading the book and its pretty good LaLaLaurie06 7 years bhilb - THEY CHANGED THE ENDING OF ATONEMENT??? DO TELL!!!!!! LaLaLaurie06 7 years I read Atonement and the whole storyline made me MAD MAD MAD. It's just so sad and terrible. I don't know if I want to put myself through that again or if I really want to watch Keira Knightly having sex with James McAvoy against a bookcase...erm...James, maybe. ;) Golden Compass looks interesting, although I just read a review of it on EW.com and....not such a good review, after all. nillawafer1983 7 years Golden Compass! And the New Yorker already gave an entire summary in their review of Atonement, don't need to see the movie now :-P Emma412 7 years I wanna see both splayer 7 years I'm a bit more excited about Atonement, but I also really want to see The Golden Compass. The-City-Girl 7 years The His Dark Materials books are AMAZING (Golden Compass is the first of the three). THAT is what everyone should do this weekend if neither movie interests you. I'll definitely be seeing The Golden Compass, myself. I've also read Atonement and if they've screwed around with the ending (which is the whole POINT!), then it would make me bitter. Karma-Co 7 years Atonement! I refuse to watch Golden Compass... Looks lame. divinelight 7 years I must have had a very realistic dream awhile back because a few days ago I swore up and down that The Golden Compass had been released already and got horrible reviews. When I first saw a trailer for it, I thought it was because it was out on DVD. Might be crazy, but I'm going to believe my dream and avoid the movie. I'll definitely be seeing Atonement though. Saturn9 7 years PJ, armored bears are inherently cool, and an armored bear named "Iorek Byrnison"? Cooler than an ice queen's ice palace! PJ-PJ-PJ 7 years The Golden Compass is not really my type of movie, but ever since I read about it I've been wanting to go see it. It might be because Daniel Craig & Sam Elliot are in it, but I'm fascinated by the Ice Bear characters. I have no idea why! bellechic 7 years Atonement kersalli 7 years I voted Atonement although I'm pretty sure I won't be seeing either films in the theatre. I am more excited for I am Legend, National Treasure 2 (yes, it's my guilty pleasure) and so many more that I'm sure I'm forgetting. leeluvfashion 7 years Atonement demeter 7 years Atonement looks better. reddani8283 7 years Seeing The Golden Compass this weekend, and I want to see Atonement, I loved the book, but I doubt that it'll be released here yet, so I'll probably have to wait till it comes out on dvd. magpie22 7 years anything other than the golden compass- those books were so important to me growing up that i just can't bear to watch it onscreen with actors who aren't "right." i still refuse to watch harry potter too! CocoChic 7 years The Golden Compass! Jess, I think you would like the books a lot. figurine 7 years I'm ridiculously excited about seeing Atonement. nimue 7 years BOTH PLEASE!
