Which Would You Choose: Music, Movies, Books, or TV?

You know the old familiar "desert island" game — the "if you were stranded on a desert island, what ________ would you take with you?" question. Well, here's today's variation: You can only choose one of these forms of entertainment to consume for the rest of your life. Which would you choose? And why?

Allytta - I agree with Jude C, just because someone likes Pop doesn't mean that they don't like to read books. I'm currently reading three books at once, and I still have time for that even though I spend time on this website. Besides, the internet wasn't one of Buzz's options for this poll ;)

Allytta, is it not possible for people to have more than one form of entertainment? I read about four novels a week. It doesn't mean I don't still have time for other stuff, including this website.

people are such liars. if they wanted books they would be reading them and have nothing to do with this website.

Whenever I fly cross country on Jet Blue, I try to watch as many hours of tv in a row as I's like a tradition or something. After four I usually want to parachute out of the plane! However, I can read for hours on end. So even though I like books and tv just the same (more than movies and music!) I think books would do a better job at amusing me for a long time. TV is delicious to me in smaller doses! :)

this was really tough for me. on one hand i am completely obsessed with tv; i have a million shows i always have to watch and always have shows on my ipod. then theres music. how could anyone live in a world without music? but i had to go with books... there are so so so many books in the world, and i reread books that i love tons of times!

Me too, crazylovebug--sometimes I feel like I'm the only person in the world who likes to read anymore :(

This is the hardest question in the world, it's like Sophie's Choice. I had to pick books, though, because books can keep you entertained for a looong time and there are so many interesting books in the world to read. But I would also be sad without my movies because I'm such a huge movie buff. Music and TV are good too, but both of them were better in the 80s and 90s.

Books!!!! Followed by movies, then TV.

This is such a hard question these are all very important aspects of my life. But I think it would most likely be music because music has always been something that affected my mood so heavily. No matter how deep I am in a mood a song can change it in an instant.

This question makes me want to puke. But I picked books and I'm surprised to see it's winning! I really want music too, but I figure I can hum my favorite songs. :)

I CANNOT pick. I´ve asked myself this question before, and I like them equally.

Books, definitely. TV would be first to go ( I hardly watch it). The best movies started out as books anyway, so that's no biggie. Living w/o music would be tough, but I have so much of it stuck in my head that I could just sing it whenever.

Music and books...can go wrong with that!

This is tough, as I pretty much live for all of these forms of media, but I chose movies in the end, and here is some of my reasoning: music + writing + visuals - commercials = movies. While music and books can and do inspire me, nothing quite gets me like when it all comes together just perfectly in a film.

I need tv but only if it's hooked up to cable. That way I can watch the news, music videos, and see the movie-version of books. :-)

If we included podcasts with music I'd be fine. I am addicted to the NPR weekend radio programming.

I had to pick music. I'm glad I don't really have to pick one though. TV is definitely the least favorite.

Assuming I would have cable I chose TV because at least the TV shows change and there's always new episodes of SOMETHING.
