Keira Knightly, she's been topping the drama business since "Pride & Prejudice". I always wonder how she manages to act these roles so well... And at such a young age too.

emily blunt does not get enough media coverage, grantz. she is a great actress i think and you seem to agree too so kudos. remember those promos of rendition where at the reese would scream something like, "JUST TELL ME HE'S OKAY!!!!!!!" bad acting, bad acting there.

Halle in Things We Lost in the Fire was amazing but so was Amy Ryan in Gone Baby Gone.

Julie Christie is sweeping up awards for "Away From Her". It was directed by Sarah Polley (an actress, and this is her directorial debut). The movie wasn't widely seen, but I think that she will be a big contender during Oscar season.

i'm so bad! i must have seen a million movies this year and i didn't see any of these. i'm gonna go with cate blanchett as well, even though she was in a supporting role.

DC Star - have to agree with you on Anne Hathaway. The movie itself was a little drab, and Anne Hathaway kind of fell into that feeling as well. James McAvoy kind of stole the spotlight from Anne.

I have a feeling if I had seen Atonement I would have picked Kiera Knightly (love her as an actress since Pride and Prejudice, I have a feeling Atonement will be an equally stellar performance) - however, to date, Amy Ryan's performance was flawless in Gone Baby Gone.

I picked Angelina Jolie. I thought she was phenomenal in A Mighty Heart. I haven't seen most of the other movies though.

I do too Seraphim! She's phenomenal. I was very disappointed in Anne Hathaway's performance in Becoming Jane.
