Who's Responsible for Sanjaya's Success?

Who's Responsible for Sanjaya's Success?

It seems like there's a baffling "American Idol" finalist every year: Scott Savol, Kevin Covais and, of course, this year's Sanjaya Malakar. Everyone seems to have a theory about why Sanjaya's still in the competition: support from Vote for the Worst, Indian call centers and the Indian community at large, or young'ins like that little crying girl from Tuesday night. Even Howard Stern has thrown his support behind Sanjaya. So I have to ask: Who's most responsible for this?

... but maybe that was not the right place for Sanjaya to be showcased. He was being laughed at by a lot of people! Yes, he has truly devoted fans, but the fact that "Vote for the Worse" zoned in on him... I was glad that he was finally voted off because I felt bad for him and wanted him out of that particular line of fire. Now, he can develop into whatever is truly Sanjaya and his true fans will enjoy him without the ridicule that he endured on "Idol."

Who is responsible??? Guess this post belongs here.... Though Sanjaya was voted off the show, he has an enormous fan base who love him and support him strongly yet. I truly believe that Sanjaya will soon be more successful in the music field than many could have imagined! Sanjaya was very brave, as he dared to break off the stereotype from himself in appearing as and being portrayed as the "shy little thing." Sanjaya took Simon's advice to do something different to stand out and not become "forgettable." Sanjaya chose to leave his comfort zone and took that advice to heart and chose to be different; even in daunting that his now Famous "Pony Hawk", which he surely knew would raise eyebrows! In being different, Sanjaya has won many dedicated fans. His fans are from all walks of life. We are a widely diverse people from every age group, every financial status, every nationality, race, and background. In addition: many of us have totally opposite views of what is defined to be a good performance and good style. Many of us even have completely different tastes in music. Sanjaya has influenced and won over many hearts by giving each of us something unique that we can relate to and love (though another Fanjaya may not); maybe it was a song, a performance, genre of music, stage outfit & hairstyle, something he said, the way he carried himself, his boldness, his shyness, his self esteem, humbleness, his strength, his gentleness, his creativeness, and willingness to listen to criticism with openness, and his ability to respond to harsh criticism with dignity. Sanjaya is like a Rainbow so Colorful and Beautiful. He is very intelligent and attempts to please us all. One thing we can all agree upon; Sanjaya is a very talented vocalist, creative entertainer, and wonderful person. There will always be someone who does not like Sanjaya nor us for that matter, for whatever reason...and that does not matter. Sanjaya won each of us over by being himself and doing what he loves most; having fun, singing, and entertaining us. Sanjaya can not be expected to please everyone but I admire his attempt to do so. Go Sanjaya!!!!!

Sanjaya SUCKSSSSSSSSS!! i cannot believe that he's still here!!, gosh man.....all the others song WAYYYYYY better than him, he shoud have gone as quick as his sister did, even Antonella was there longer than expected,.....*sigh*..what are these ppl voting for!! so sorry to see Stephanie go, I really liked Jordin,Sabrina and Step and the girl with the black hair and pinkish hair at the top, the others no way...especially Lakeisha, and love Chris and Blake (beatbox guy). This isnt about voting for someone because they are your race, around your age group, how cute they or/and their hair looks.....(Sanjaya)the guy cant sing shit, Vote for someone who sounds terrific live and looks great..someone you wont get tired of hearing, seeing and can sing in more than one genre,...alot of ppl insult the singers out there when performing live, are they voting for him because atleast they know he sucks and if they let him get through atleast they know not to expect anything if he ever performs live....i cant believe the GREAT singers that are gone and some of the sucky ones that are still there......Oh Kelly Clarkson...The first and the BEST!!..I guess after her and Clay Aiken its gone downhill :(

Maybe people keep voting to see if he's still trying to rock the Michael Jackson vibe (the clothes, the gloves, etc) the next week!

Please do not blame the Indian community for his success. There are many diasporic Indians doing a much better job of representing the motherland on the global scene than Sanjaya Malakar. Critically acclaimed filmmakers - Night Shyamalan, Mira Nair, Deepa Mehta, Gurrinder Chadda. Award Winning Author's - Salman Rushdie, Amitav Ghosh, Rohinton Mistry, Kiran Desai. Entrepreneur - LN Mittal Up & Coming actors - Sendhil Ramamurthy (Heroes), Parmindar Nagra (ER). Hell I'd take even Deepak Chopra. But I can assure you that no Indian anywhere in the world looks at Sanjaya Malakar and says, "yes he's the pride and future of the Indian community."
