The US Woolmark Prize finalists are in, and calling it a crowded field would be a bit of an understatement! The award, which promotes awareness of Merino wool fiber and contributes $100,000 towards winning designers' collections, has gone to past notable winners including Karl Lagerfeld and Yves Saint Laurent. Though we can't say for sure whether design stars like Bibhu Mohapatra, Wes Gordon, Joseph Altuzarra (all pictured above) will join the ranks of Lagerfeld and Saint Laurent, the prize (which will be determined on July 9) certainly puts them on the right track!
The recipient will compete against finalists from Australia, China, India, and Europe in Milan next year for the International Woolmark Prize, another $100,000, and the chance to have their label carried in Harvey Nichols, 10 Corso Como, Joyce, Eickhoff, and David Jones! With Creatures of the Wind, Daniel Vosovic, Giulietta, Ohne Titel, Timo Weiland, Tucker, and WHIT rounding out the field, America has a stellar chance of taking home the ultimate prize!
