3.1 Phillip Lim Cardigan: Love It or Hate It?

Phillip Lim has really found his niche, making semi-affordable pieces that ride the line between classic and fresh. Most of his clothes that I see I am really inclined to buy!

Take this 3.1 Phillip Lim Cardigan, $430, posted by everythingnice in the Love It or Hate It? group, for example. I like the the slouchiness of it, and the lace detailing is a nice pseudo-Gothic touch. But does it look like something out of your grandmother's closet?

I can understand loving clothes our grannies used to wear, but do we really want to be dressing the way they're dressing right now? That is, like grannies? Ummm not me. I'm all for old style glamour but that means from back in the day (50's, 60's) not as seen on old people.

It would look better if it was a different shape, cut, color, different details....... Ya.. Ew.

my grandma wears those... and i'm not saying it in a good way, sure i've got a lot of vintage stuff from her that amazes fashionistas everywear, but this is what she would wear now that she's 68.

It'd be a cute sweater for someone older, but not for me.

I like the idea of it. But it looks too big and baggy. Like someone took GRAMPA'S cardigan and put gramma's lace on it.

I must say I like. With a skinny patent belt, maybe?
