Few materials read richer than feathers and lace, and fortunately, in the case of Alberta Ferretti's Fall 2014 collection, both were on display and employed to their highest degree. The opulent designs didn't scale back when it came to hues, and textured metallic and jewel-tone fabrics underlined the message that Ferretti was determined to convey for Autumn.
Returning to the topic of those feathers, they were not alone in giving this collection wings. The designs took flight with bird appliqués and prints, and those plumed spiral sandals (often paired with the unexpected accompaniment of slouchy wool socks) are sure to soar to the top of many a fashion spotter's wish list.
Those nature references were joined by floral embellishments, fur trims, and lavish tweed, which seemed inspired by the hunt but better suited for cozying up inside by the fire. Though — with pieces so strong — who would stay inside this Fall?
