Alexander Wang's Fall '17 Collection Gives You a Lifetime Supply of All-Black Outfit Ideas

When you attend an Alexander Wang show, it's an experience you'll never forget. For the designer's Fall 2017 collection, Wang brought the fashion crowd to Hamilton Heights in Harlem, New York. Guests arrived at an abandoned theater with visible crumbling plasterwork and plastic construction tarp covering the walls. As I entered the space with a thin black wristband that read "No After Party" and was greeted with kegs of Peroni beer, I thought, "Am I at a fashion show or an underground club?"

Then it hit me: the show was the party. From the location to the wristbands to the legacy of Wang's party-animal spirit, all these details formed his version of the perfect nighttime celebration. For Wang it wasn't just about the clothes; he had created a special atmosphere for the audience too, which included Zoë Kravitz, Brooklyn Beckham, Kylie Jenner, Fetty Wap, and Teyana Taylor.

It wasn't long before the opening hip-hop songs died down and the Fall looks came down an elevated runway. Models such as Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner stepped out in quintessential Wang wear — gray plaid coats, silver fringe, punk disco-ball dresses, leather — with one outfit that particularly caught our eye. Bella wore a pair of tiny leather shorts with a shirt bearing the words, "Night of Treason."

This felt most appropriate for the event, which only lasted (what felt like) five minutes. But, that was the point. All parties come to an end, so you'd best seize the moment and 'gram as much as you can. Because one beer later and you're back in an Uber heading downtown, far from the afterparty.
