It wasn't a far leap to make when it was announced today that Anthony Vaccarello will be the next designer to helm Versace's Versus label. After all, the Belgian's sexy-meets-edgy aesthetic is so inline with the Italian label that his mesh collection (as seen on Anja Rubik at this year's Met Gala) could be easily inserted into a Versus runway. And Donatella clearly agrees: "Anthony's clothes have everything that I love: they are sensual, dynamic, daring. He is a natural and has the confidence and talent to push fashion where he wants it and where it is relevant for today's women. I can't wait to collaborate with him and to see Versus Versace through his eyes."
Following in the footsteps of London's Jonathan William Anderson, there's no question Vaccarello will make a fitting guest designer for the secondary line. The capsule collection, which will feature both ready-to-wear and accessories, will launch at a special event next year. "I am so excited to be collaborating with Donatella on this collection for Versus Versace," Vaccarello elaborated. "Versace is a house that has always used extraordinary techniques to create its bold, contemporary fashion. I feel like we share a similar spirit, so for me it is a dream collaboration." We couldn't agree more!
