BB King, Chuck Berry, and Jerry Lee Lewis might not be the first people to come to mind when you think of male models, but they're the newest stars of Saint Laurent's Music Project campaign.
Hedi Slimane created custom pieces for each of the men, and this past Summer, he even traveled to them to take the photographs. King was photographed in Las Vegas wearing a bespoke version of the classic Le Smoking suit, and Berry's portrait was taken in St. Louis wearing a custom Teddy tuxedo. Lewis wore a Teddy tux, too, but got shot in Nesbit, MS.
Slimane has been photographing rock stars since he came to the house and recently worked with Daft Punk, Marilyn Manson, and Courtney Love. But working with these three living legends shows that Slimane has been influenced by blues from the start. After all, the soundtrack to his first show for the house was a Daft Punk edit of music by the late Junior Kimbrough. It'll be interesting to see if this blues influence pops up again during Slimane's next show for Saint Laurent, scheduled for the end of the month.
For now, a look at Saint Laurent's newest Music Project images.
