The first thing to note about the Band of Outsiders Resort 2014 showing was that the branding was sleekly streamlined, with all labels bearing the same name, rather than the oft-confusing Boy or Girl prefix (a change for this season!). Secondly, after the usual nautical influence and preppy garden-party pieces, a strong nod to the '90s grabbed our attention. Bold block prints in Crayola colors seemed straight out of a Saved by the Bell afternoon at The Max, while boxy shoulders looked like an '80s hangover that bled, subdued, into the next decade.
That's not to say it's a time warp that turned us off — far from it! The strong shapes and silhouettes, whether it was tux-inspired rompers, roomy leather jackets, or dresses meant to look like a crop top and maxi, have something to offer any type of dresser.
