Barneys isn't exactly known for its traditional holiday displays, and this year it's taken its irreverence to a whole new level. Debuting its New York windows on Instagram this morning, the retailer presented four 10-second clips of its interactive window displays that are anything but a scene out of Currier and Ives.
Above, the first video, titled Reflections, features a light show created by a faceted structure covered in mirrors. Of the display, creative director Dennis Feedman explained, "We're working with artists and designers at the forefront of light projection technology to capture the mystery, beauty and wonder of New York." Get a sneak peek at Christmas future in the videos below.
Floating City: File this under, you have to see it to believe it: a large gold structure on the Madison Avenue sidewalk transforms through 3D mapping and light projections during a three-minute experience.
City Lights: Inspired by the constant motion of New York, the hectic city pace has never looked so glorious as this moving pattern of LED lights.
BNY NYC Sleigh Ride: Visitors can become a part of the display with an interactive experience that puts a whole new spin on sitting on Santa's lap.
