Beauty Spring Peek: Fresh & Tan

Beauty Spring Peek: Fresh & Tan

The face at the Matthew Williamson Spring 2007 Fashion Show was fresh and tan and not too over done. This look was inspired from a fun loving girl on vacation in Ibiza and is meant to let the inner you shine on through.

This Spring Peek will draw attention to your clothes, your smile and especially to your eyes. I also love how he paired the Beauty Spring Peek: Loose Waves & Center Parts with such a neutral face to create an ultra soft and effortless look.

To get this fresh faced and tan bronzed look at home,

  • Begin with foundation since it is the key to flawless looking skin. This foundation layer helps makeup stay on longer and also acts as a canvas to even out your skin tone so makeup colors look truer.
  • Next apply concealer, but remember that a little goes a long way. This will hide all! Use a thin makeup brush on your inner-eye corners first and gently work outward. Concealer helps cover under eye circles, blemishes and broken capillaries.
  • Then, lightly apply bronzer to the lowest part of your cheekbones and work your way outwards. This will create a gorgeous looking contour and give your cheekbones an instant lift!
  • Next, apply just a light dab of highlighter/luminizer to the upper portion of your cheekbones. Blend it well; outward and upward to achieve a barely-there radiance.
  • Lastly, you can use a powder if you are prone to shine but please use it sparingly so that you don't wind up looking chalky. Keep in mind that the less makeup you use, the more natural look you can achieve!

Agreed, romaniangrl. I think she is very beautiful and I would rather see her for what she is than all photoshopped. Isn't it obvious now that people have become so accustomed to fakeness they can't live without it?

Wow, I cannot believe how critical people are of the model's skin. I noticed the bumps too, but the only difference between this and a lot of other pictures we see is the fact that they use photoshopping. I would rather see a natural pic like this than a fake completely photoshopped pic that doesn't even look like the real person anymore. Models are people not flawless manequins. That said, I am not crazy about the makeup in this pic, it's very plain, it does look like just foundation was applied.

Hi txdesignerd. Thanks for the call out - it was unclear and I updated the post. I am well aware of what the temples are. :)

ok, the nerd in me can't let this one slide... "Then, lightly apply bronzer to your temples, the lowest part of your cheekbones (working your way outwards) and bring the brush down the sides of your face. This will create a gorgeous looking contour and give your cheekbones an instant lift!" sorry, but your temples are the flattish area on the sides of your forehead, above your cheekbones, just about next to your eyebrows... http://img78.imageshack.us/img78/8733/templesuy1.jpg

This look isn't "fresh". All I see is a ton of foundation, and it looks like they stopped there. Hooray for a quick make-up rountine. BOO for the fact that it sucks.

Hmmm, I'm not so bothered about her having a few spots, but her make-up looks like it was applied with a spade, and that is NOT fresh!!! Ugh! When you going for a fresh spring look, less is always more!

I have a 13 year old - and her skin looks NOTHING like that, nor does she need all the 'cream' on her skin! She just wears bronzing powder, eyeliner and brown mascara. (i WISH) lol

LalaLola....I was just thinking the same thing...If you are beauty model the at the very least you need flawless skin

I thought the same thing about her skin, but then again, this is probably one of these runway backstage beauty pictures, and how would your skin look after having walked all these shows day in day out, being pasted with make up all over...? I think it is refreshing to see that even gorgeous models have skin issues sometimes.

Yay! Fresh and tan works for me. Try as a I might, I canNOT avoid a tan in the summer.

Yech! That poor girl has enough skin issues, then they glommed all that greasy looking makeup on her :( It doesn't look "fresh" to me at all.

Those are pimples and while everyone has them at some time, they don't belong on a model in a print ad, advertising a fresh and tan look! Ugh

LaLa - I totally agree! If she was on Top Model, they would certainly have a problem with that! Although I guess that just makes the make-up that better because I bet you wouldn't even notice if the photo wasn't zoomed in so close.

I don't mean to be mean or offensive AT ALL, but aren't models supposed to have perfect complexions, granted she has a complexion most young people have, but for a model isn't that not so good?
