Hey there, it's Allison. The red carpet brings one thought to mind here at Fab Sugar: gorgeous gowns. With 2011 quickly coming to a close we picked our favorite red carpet looks from this year. From Blake and Chanel, to Rosie and Gucci, to Diane Kruger's thigh high slits, watch to see which red carpet stunners made our list in today's Fab Flash. This was the year of Black Swan and Mila Kunis really nailed it during awards season, especially with this gorgeous, lacy lilac gown. It's sweet with just the right amount of sexy. At the Golden Globes Angelina Jolie chose a gorgeous glittery long Versace dress in a bright emerald green hue that really brought out her eyes. Such a show stopper. Jason Wu created this stunning gown Diane Kruger wore to the Met ball this year. We love the nude, embellished effect of the long sleeved top and the black skirt with the thigh high slit really amps up the wow factor. Blake Lively wore some beautiful Chanel dresses this year, but our favorite was definitely this ethereal white one, covered in flowers, that she wore for the LA premier of Green Lantern. It's youthful, innocent, and totally fresh. This was the year of Kate Middleton, and she wore so many great outfits on her North American tour, but the one that truly stole our hearts was this shimmery Jenny Packham dress, complete with pretty flutter sleeves and embellished bodice, this gown was definitely fit for a princess. Anne Hathaway's Armani dress at the Golden Globes is to die for. The blush color looks fabulous with her skin tone, and it's a really chic way to wear head to toe sequins. Not to mention the strong shoulders and open back are, as Rachel Zoe would say, "Major." Mandy Moore looked breathtaking in this elegant, diamond-encrusted gown by Monique Lhuillier at the Oscars. The new tulle on top and bottom gave the dress a barely there effect that was simply gorgeous. Although we were sad to say good-bye to Harry Potter this year, we loved seeing all of Emma Watson's red carpet outfits. Our favorite was definitely this Oscar de la Renta embellished tulle gown. It was fit for a fairy tale ending. Gwyneth Paltrow showed off her amazing figure in this metallic Stella McCartney gown at the Oscars. We love the idea of updating a simple silhouette with a bold shimmery color and a deep neckline. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley really made a statement this year with her consistently stunning ensembles. But the one we fell for the most was this jewel-tone Gucci dress with a completely sheer black bottom that she chose for the premiere of Transformers. Nina Dobrev looked red-hot at the Emmys this year, in a show-stopping Donna Karan confection. The mermaid style silhouette showed off her great figure, and she paired it with a sparkly choker and a clutch. Gwen Stefani proved that black is anything but boring during the Cannes Film Festival. This gorgeous halter land gown, designed by Gwen, accentuated her figure in all the right places, especially the gold band at her waist. Michelle Williams tends to wear really simple, classic pieces and this embellished spaghetti strap dress by Erdem is no exception. We love how she goes for a super minimal look, adding only a simple bracelet and Roger Vivier peep toe pumps. Jennifer Garner chose a rich navy blue Yves St. Laurent gown for the BAFTA Brits to Watch event in LA. Showing off one shoulder is subtly sexy, and we love her loose wave and gold hoop earrings. Brooklyn Decker chose a standout hot pink Michael Kors gown for the Met Ball this year. The silhouette is so classic and simple, with long sleeves and a thigh-high slit, but made fresh and modern with a bright pink hue. OK, so now we are totally excited for the 2012 awards season. We hope you are, too. I'm Allison, see you next time on Fab Flash on Fab Sugar TV. Show me what's the destination.
