Some of the most provocative, artistic, and inspirational installations on view today aren't found in a museum — they may be in the window of your favorite store.
The Bergdorf Goodman men's store has debuted a series of windows dressed with objects — including pieces by renowned artist Damien Hirst — which will be included in the Nov. 23 Sotheby's (RED) auction to benefit AIDS research. Even better? The selection was curated by Apple's lead designer Sir Jonathan Ive along with Marc Newson and Bono. The temporary display marks the objects' first public appearance stateside.
Just a few blocks away, you can drift into the surrealist compositions at Barneys, witness the total Dior takeover at Saks, and get a natural-history lesson from Louis Vuitton. See the showstopping window displays on view here, in the gallery.
