Even as a fashion professional, I have to admit: ever since the Birkenstock erupted on the scene [1], I've been nursing thoughts along the lines of, "How exactly do I wear them?" I had to give myself some time to get into them, but now I'm in the pro-pool-slide camp (in fact, as I'm typing this, I'm sincerely hoping the FedEx man is ringing the bell at my apartment to deliver my own pair).
