Black Friday Shopping Style Tips

Don't Attempt Black Friday Without These Essentials

Every week, we bring you the best shoppable fashion and lifestyle stories from our partner Lifestyle Mirror. Today, we're sharing Taylor Davies's post of Black Friday shopping tips.

Brave are the women who battle the crowds on Black Friday. While many of us have given up on setting foot in an actual store during the holiday shopping season in favor of cyber deals, there are some who embrace the rush of scoring a deal in person. Ladies, this one’s for you.

We’ve broken down Black Friday survival tips into 10 essential pieces of advice. The first is, naturally, to wear comfortable shoes. (Our moms taught us well!) And not just any comfortable shoes — chic sneakers from Nike. Beyond that, make sure to layer properly, carry a classic tote (avoid that dreaded “elbow crook cramp”), and of course, reward yourself with a little something at the end of the day. We say make it count — and make it cashmere. Shop our 10 Black Friday tips below. (Yes, more shopping before all the shopping.)

Wear Comfortable Shoes Sneakers have gone chic these days, so we say pair your best shopping outfit with a fresh pair of Nike Frees.
Nike Free 3.0 v5 running shoes ($110)

Go Incognito Don't want to be recognized while waiting in line to snag that killer TV deal at Best Buy? Then shades are a must.
Illesteva sunglasses ($165)

Treat Yourself You deserve a little something for shopping so tirelessly for your friends and loved ones. We say make it count — and make it cashmere. You deserve it.
J.Crew cashmere long-sleeve tee ($188)

Stash a Snack OK, so not eating on the run is not the chicest thing — but when you're power-shopping, it's pretty much a must. A granola bar with a hint of sweet will give you an energy boost and feel like a treat.
Kind bars ($29 for 40)

Take a Tote A tote bag will be your best friend on Black Friday. Store small purchases and carry it over your shoulder to avoid the dreaded "elbow-crook cramp."
Baggu leather tote ($160)

Layer Smart Wear a jacket that you can easily fold over your arm or tie around your waist. (Seriously!) If it's extra chilly, add a scarf you can tuck into your bag.
Armani Exchange scarf ($38)

Keep It Cool and Casual A marathon day of shopping calls for an easy outfit that can go the distance and won't cause you to overheat as you battle the crowds.
Zara ripped jeans ($80)

Use Technology to Stay Organized We love the Evernote app for keeping our entire lives organized in one easy-to-navigate place.
Evernote app (free)

Caffeinate Let coffee do what internal motivation can't. Bring a brew from home in a travel cup that won't spill when you toss it in your tote.
Bodum travel press ($20)

Have Your Essentials Handy Rooting around in a gigantic wallet for your cards and car keys is a pain. Transfer just what you need to a small card carrier for the day (and keep it close!).
Gigi New York card case ($52)
