Lovers of quality, rejoice! Although we're still waiting for COS – the higher-end, European-based label produced by H&M – to open stateside, the brand's e-commerce experience has finally arrived in the United States.
Until now, fans of COS, which stands for Collection of Style, have only had access through a pop-up shop at Opening Ceremony or by taking a transatlantic flight. So, now that e-commerce is available, shoppers can peruse minimalist separates with ease. This is especially good news after plans to launch its first store in New York's SoHo neighborhood – where H&M already has a number of locations – in Spring 2014 has come and gone.
"We are all looking forward to the opening," said Marie Honda, one of the brand's executives. "New York City is a vibrant and exciting city, and we feel SoHo will be the ideal setting for our first store."
Since it launched in 2007, COS has created the kinds of timeless staple pieces everyone needs in their wardrobes, and the U.S. market is now among the 19 countries who can shop the brand online. The SoHo store will be the first location the brand hasn't opened in Europe or the Middle East. Plans for an L.A. store are underway.
