Carine Roitfeld Wears Balmain's Fall 2010 Black Dress Twice

Carine Roitfeld's New Favorite LBD of the Moment — Balmain!

It's no biggie when you and I repeat an outfit head to toe. But when the editor of Vogue Paris Carine Roitfeld does it, it's worth mentioning. It's by no means a fashion crime — remember when Victoria Beckham re-outfitted her favorite gray look in '07? — in fact, it's quite refreshing. She's found an ensemble she adores and she's sticking with it! The first time Carine wore her favorite Balmain Fall '10 LBD was at the Cannes Film Festival last week. And then she wore it again, in the same exact way with Alaia lace-up sandals and a gold necklace, at Louis Vuitton's London store opening this week. She has inspired me to take an outfit I love each season, and make it my signature. Has she inspired you, too?

I'm glad to see something like this because it always freaked me out to think all these celebrities spend thousands and thousands of dollars in designer clothes they only wear once. I'm sure you can make a poor child's year of food with what one of these dresses cost or maybe an entire average family's month bills. Good for you Carine, now I admire you more than before ;)

The outfit looks gorgeous on Carine and suits her frame and taste beautifully. I always enjoy seeing a top editor break the silly age old saying of never wear an outfit twice. As for me, while I love her style and act of repeating a current go-to look, I always repeat a look due to wardrobe limits (and if I really like the look.)

No. The fact that I can't afford to not repeat outfits all the time is what inspires me to have a "signature look".

Dress and shoes look great, but if that's her "signature" hair and makeup... bleccch.
