At last night's state dinner, Michelle Obama wore a staggeringly stunning Carolina Herrera dress, and it got us thinking: which of Carolina's just-shown Fall 2014 looks will the First Lady wear to her next big event?
Herrera channeled the social swans of the '60s with her ladylike collection, and she seems to have found her own muse in the toweringly elegant supermodel Karlie Kloss, who was the first and last onto the catwalk at Lincoln Center this morning. With cone hats, major dangling earrings, and beehive buns, the mood was firmly set for a romp through the late '60s on Park Avenue. Mink sweaters, bell-sleeve jackets, trapeze dresses, and even a broadtail dress made for a luxe collection that Herrera referred to as "an exploration of soft construction and volume" in her show notes.
Red carpet fans Tina Fey and Emmy Rossum sat front row, and they had their pick of gorgeous gowns for upcoming Oscars festivities. Prints played a major part, with bold red and cobalt providing the background for a firestone pattern on floating organza gowns. A red strapless ballgown with cut appliqués seemed made for Amy Adams, while the finale gown would look good on so many of Hollywood's finest it seems impossible to choose.
